8.11But keep the left hand out of the melody register

If the melody is around middle C and above, don't play dense accompaniment in the same range.

A practical rule:

Keep the accompaniment below the melody, with enough space that the melody remains clearly audible.

If everything sits in the middle register, the texture becomes muddy.
