21.25Reharmonization by bass-line design

This is one of the most powerful techniques.

Suppose you want a descending bass:

C → B → A → G

C → B → A → G

Choose chords supporting those bass notes.

For example:

C → G/B → Am → C/G

C → G/B → Am → C/G

or:

C → G/B → Am → Em/G

C → G/B → Am → Em/G

Now the bass line becomes the organizing principle.
