6.23A practical ear-training method
Take a simple song you know well.
Do not immediately sit at the piano.
First sing it.
Then identify:
- Where does the first phrase end?
- Does that ending sound final or open?
- Where does the second phrase end?
- Which ending feels more conclusive?
- Where do you hear the strongest pull back home?
Only then go to the piano.
This trains musical understanding before finger-searching.
