74.94Mini-composition exercise
Write 32 bars using a simple progression but sophisticated harmonic placement.
Requirements:
- first 8 bars: mostly downbeat changes
- one RH-only anticipation
- one bass-only anticipation
- one delayed chord change
- one melody-first arrival
- one tonic pedal spanning at least two upper-harmony changes
- one dominant region with fast color rhythm
- one offbeat real harmonic change repeated as a motif
- one chord omitted on the second pass of a phrase
- one cadence where tonic arrives in at least three stages
- final 4 bars return to simple downbeat harmony
The listener should feel development even though the actual chord vocabulary stays conservative.
