19.25Use the harmony to predict melody notes

If chord is C major:

C E G are highly likely structural melody notes.

If chord changes to G7:

G B D F become likely.

This means harmony can help you solve a melody by ear.

Later, the reverse will also be true: melody helps you find harmony.
