If there's one seventh-chord quality you should learn to recognize early, it's:

dominant 7

Because hearing it tells you:

a resolution is probably coming.

Play dominant chords around the circle:

G7 → C

C7 → F

F7 → B♭

B♭7 → E♭

Try to predict the destination before playing it.
