C → F → G7 → C

Try:

C → Dm → G7 → C

Because Dm and F share predominant function.

Then:

Am → Dm → G7 → C

because Am can substitute for tonic function.

You have changed the harmony without changing the basic functional path.

That is reharmonization in its simplest form.
