5.27Functional substitution
Suppose your progression is:
C → F → G7 → C
Since Dm and F both have predominant function, try:
C → Dm → G7 → C
Now since Am can have tonic function:
Am → Dm → G7 → C
So without completely changing the harmonic logic, we generate several progressions.
This is the beginning of reharmonization.
