Keep C in the left hand.

Right hand:

C, E, G

Make little melodies using only these.

These are the chord tones of C major.

Then allow:

D, F, A, B

as temporary notes, but try landing important beats on:

C, E, G.

You'll discover a fundamental improvisation principle:

Chord tones sound stable; other scale tones create movement.

This isn't an absolute law, but it's an excellent starting model.
