20.16The bridge: dominant chain

A common bridge concept is a chain of dominant chords moving by fifths.

In B♭-based Rhythm Changes, think conceptually:

D7 → G7 → C7 → F7

D7 → G7 → C7 → F7

Each dominant lasts longer than the quick A-section chords.

Then F7 points back toward:
