Version 1

Play first phrase in strict 3/4.

Phrase 2: slightly more flexible.

Phrase 3: broad rubato at the climax.

Phrase 4: return to pulse.

Then:

free interlude.

A repeating note establishes a faster 4/4.

Play a transformed statement.

At final cadence:

ritard.

Hold dominant.

Resolve.

Release chord.

Allow one final free high note.
